Regulations, Guidelines and Procedures:

The correct address format for mail and common carriers is as follows:

  • Proper Name (The same name as your Owl Card)
  • Student ID Number

Students will not receive an email for items when addressed to:

  • A nickname
  • In care of second party
  • Items addressed to a parent

Collecting Packages and Mail:

Residential students living on the Kennesaw Campus with properly addressed packages and first class mail will receive their mail through Housing and Residence Life.

Kennesaw Campus:
Mailboxes are located in each community and there is one mailbox per apartment (you will share one mailbox with your roommates). Residents do not need a mailbox key to receive packages at our main desks.

KSU Place:
Mailboxes are near A building for buildings A-G and near the volleyball court for buildings 100-400.

Austin Residence Complex:
Mailboxes are located near the bottom entrance to Town Hall for buildings 100-1100 and near the multipurpose room in the 1200 building for buildings 1200-1400.

University Village:
Mailboxes are located in the lobby/terrace of your specific building (note: 5000 building mailboxes are located in the 2000 building).

University Village Suites:
Mailboxes are located on the 1st floor of each building near the main entrance.

Packages Too Large For Your mailbox:
If you have a package that is too large to fit in your mailbox, it will be stored in your community housing office. You can come pick it up during office hours. Please make sure to have a picture ID with you. Residents do not need a mailbox key to receive packages at our main desks.

Emergency Package Pickup Authorization:
If for any reason you are unable to pick up a package or mail, another individual may be designated to pick up the item(s) on your behalf from Campus Postal Services. The recipient must forward the received email to With the the name of the authorized individual picking up the item. The individual picking up the item must bring a picture ID.

Unidentified Recipient Items
Items received with an unknown recipient will not be logged in; these items will be held for seven to ten working days before being returned to the sender. It is the responsibility of the recipient to check with Campus Postal Services if expecting a package or mail and have not received an email notification. Mail recipients should be prepared to provide as much information as possible about the item, including the tracking number and name of the sender.

Non-Residential Students Mail:
Commuter students will not receive an email notification for packages or mail. However, if a package does come in for a student that does not live in housing, the package will be held for ten days. After the ten-day period, the package will be returned to the sender. Any item that does not have a tracking number, such as regular mail will be returned to the sender the day it is received.

Notifications of Receiving Packages
Recepients will receive an email from "Packcity" with the following information:

  1. Packcity Locker Notification: You will receive an email with pick up codes: (Identification and Authentication).   Email will be coming from 
  2. Or an email from Packcity to pick up of item in the Campus Postal Service area. 

** If using the Outlook App, the email may fall into your “other” folder in lieu of your inbox** 

Forwarding Mail:
If you have moved or graduated, the USPS will forward all first-class mail for three months. Packages will not be forwarded and will be returned to the sender.

Overseas Mail:
All overseas mail should be identified as such, and separated from domestic mail, and, if larger than letter size, must have a properly filled-out and signed, U.S. Customs form PS form 2976 attached. Please Note:
Department mailbox number must be used in return address on all University mail. Department mail box numbers in the address of all incoming and inter-campus mail.
